Made with rich chocolate pudding, Oreo cookies, and mini marshmallows, Oreo fluff is an easy dessert with a light, airy texture and tons of chocolate flavor!

The temperature is rising and I don’t really want to turn on the oven.
Luckily, I have a whole bunch of no-bake recipes I can turn to for delicious desserts even when it’s too hot to bake.
For some reason, there’s something extra delicious about a no-bake dessert made with Oreos. Oreo pie? Oreo truffles? Peanut butter Oreo ice cream? Yes, yes, and yes, please!
Let’s add this easy and delicious Oreo fluff to that list and keep the Oreo party going.

What is Oreo fluff?
We love a good fluff “salad” in the Midwest.
And yeah, we know that these desserts are really a salad like strawberry spinach salad. Instead, like strawberry pretzel salad, it’s just the name.
Fluff is a vintage-style dessert that’s made with a base of pudding and/or cream cheese mixed with cool whip. The texture of the dessert is light and fluffy—which is where the name “fluff” comes from!
There are all kinds of flavors of fluff out there. I grew up eating pineapple fluff, orange fluff, and cranberry fluff at family holidays. Watergate salad (sometimes called pistachio fluff or green stuff) is another popular fluff recipe around here.
This Oreo fluff is a chocolatey version of this dessert. It has chocolate pudding, cream cheese, crushed Oreos, and mini marshmallows.
It’s easy to make and since it’s a no-bake treat, it’s perfect for summer!

How to make Oreo fluff
Fluff recipes are perfect for making with kids because they are simple no-bake desserts. My kids love helping make this Oreo fluff!
Ingredients you’ll need
To make my Oreo fluff, you will need:
- 8 ounces room-temperature cream cheese
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 (3.4-ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
- 3/4 cup 2% or whole milk
- 1 (8-ounce) container thawed whipped topping
- 12 coarsely crushed Oreo cookies
- ½ cup mini marshmallows (optional)

I like using a combination of cream cheese and pudding as the base of this recipe for the best flavor and texture.
Make sure your cream cheese is softened to room temperature before you start making the fluff. If you forget to set yours out ahead of time, check out my tips for how to soften cream cheese quickly.
Make sure to buy instant pudding mix, not cook-and-serve pudding.
You can use your favorite whipped topping in this recipe. Just make sure it has fully thawed before adding it!
If you aren’t a big fan of whipped topping, try using stabilized whipped cream instead.
I also like to garnish my Oreo fluff with extra whipped topping and Oreos for serving, but that’s totally up to you.
Make this recipe
Using a mixer, beat the cream cheese for 3 minutes, until super smooth. Scrape down the bowl with a spatula and add the powdered sugar and vanilla. Beat for another 3 minutes.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the pudding mix with the milk. Let the pudding rest for a few minutes so it can thicken.
Add the thickened pudding to the cream cheese mixture and beat well. Make sure you scrape down the sides and bottom of the bowl so you mix in all of the cream cheese.

Fold in the thawed cool whip, then mix in the crushed Oreos and the mini marshmallows.
Cover and chill the fluff for 2-3 hours before serving.

Recipe substitutions
This version of Oreo fluff is extra chocolatey thanks to using chocolate pudding as the base, but you have other options!
If you can find instant Oreo pudding, that would give the fluff a great cookies-and-cream vibe. Instant vanilla pudding or cheesecake pudding mix would also work.
You could even use vanilla pudding and Golden Oreos for a totally chocolate-free version. You could even use lemon Oreos and lemon pudding for a bright, springy version!

Storage tips
Store Oreo fluff in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. The Oreo cookies will soften the longer the fluff sits, but it will still taste delicious.
