It never fails. I always have a few unique people on my holiday shopping list that I can never seem to find the perfect gift for. Since I’ve been writing My Baking Addiction, people have certainly become a little more forthcoming about what they like to eat, so I’ve decided to go with it and use this information to create the perfect edible gifts.
Regardless of who is on the receiving end, I have yet to find someone that doesn’t appreciate a crafty holiday treat! I have been on the hunt for beautifully presented, edible giftables that are sure to be a hit with even the pickiest people on my list. After scouring some of my favorite sites such as Pinterest, FoodGawker, and CraftGawker, I think we’ve come up with a list of great edible gift ideas that can be duplicated with ease.
This first item that snagged my attention were Gingerbread Caramels from Martha Stewart. I not only fell in love with the red metallic cones that these little goodies were packaged in, but also the thought of caramels infused with fantastic winter spices.
For that person that can never turn down a good bottle of spirits, I stumbled across a Cranberry Infused Vodka from The Food Channel. This idea is an incredibly simple homemade gift that require only two ingredients. Presenting this in a clear glass bottle fancied up with a little festive flair will create a gorgeous and unique holiday gift.
Image Credit: marthstewart.com I couldn’t have a post about awesome edible gifts without a couple of ideas for the kiddies. These delightful winter themed gumdrop pops were found on Martha Stewart. Gumdrops are stacked on a lollipop stick and small candies are added to form Santa Claus’s eyes, buttons on a snowman, or other small embellishments to create a fun and easy project for the little ones. Packaging them in a decorative cellophane bag or in clear jar resting in sanding sugar, as pictured above, will give the appearance of these jovial characters playing in the snow. How fun is that?
I was also able to come across these Snowman Pops in the Idea Room, that are not only super cute, but easy! Simply take chocolate sandwich cookies and dip in white chocolate melts. Insert a lollipop stick into the cookie when cooled and Voila! You can elaborate even further and use some additional candy melts under the snowman cookie and make them appear as though they are melting, which seem to be pretty popular this year. Package the pops in cellophane sleeves, wrapped with an individually created gift tag or the melted snowmen are shown packaged in a clear gift bag with a holiday trim. I’m sure the receiver of these little snow buddies will be more than impressed by your talent in creative gift-giving.
Image Credit: Munchin with Munchkin This last gift was, by far, one of my favorite finds. I spotted a recipe for a Chai concentrate from Munchin With Munchkin. I thought this was a fantastic idea for that person who loves to be in the kitchen, but never know quite what to get them. Because this concentrate can be used for hot or cold drinks or Chai flavoring in recipes for multiple baked goods, this would be a fantastic and versatile gift for that Chai Tea lover. Package in an air tight jar and decorate with a salt dough gift tag and you’ve created an elegant and delicious gift that is sure to please. I plan to try this one out myself in the very near future!
