These Black Velvet Overnight Dessert Oats are smooth, creamy, hearty, filling, and best of all, sweet and chocolatey!
I call this “Black Velvet” because it’s got the flavor of red velvet — sweet vanilla plus chocolate — but it’s black instead of red!
These Black Velvet Overnight Dessert Oats have got the healthfulness of oatmeal with the flavor and essence of chocolate cake batter. If you’re a chocolate fan (and I truly hope you are), then this is pretty much a breakfast MADE for you!
Let’s take a moment to observe this thick and creamy chocolate goodness:

I think this is the epitome of a well-rounded, balanced breakfast. It’s got complex carbs and protein to power you through your morning, plus a ton of fiber to fill you up for hours. We won’t get hungry again in 30 minutes like we typically would from a bowl of cereal. And did I mention, we get some healthy fats too and none of the added sugar.
OH, AND GUESS WHAT?! This takes just a few minutes to prepare. All you gotta do is stir together a few ingredients and refrigerate it overnight. Next thing you know, it’s morning and your breakfast is already made and ready to enjoy. A perfect morning indeed!
Let’s skip the prepackaged, storebought oatmeal that lacks flavor (and nutrients) and make these Black Velvet Overnight Dessert Oats at home.
Enjoy!
